My Favorite Books of 2017

IMG_20180921_075705856 (002)Yep, you read right. I’m finally posting my list of favorite books read in 2017, nine months after I originally planned. Most of you probably don’t care. I get it. Problem is, this has been a monkey on my back for months (guilt). This is traditionally my favorite post to write and I’m compelled to cross it off my list. Plus, playing with my reading stats helped get my creative juices flowing. I’ve decided to write my ode to 2017’s reading, regardless of the calendar. Continue reading My Favorite Books of 2017

Books of My Life – Lisa Patton

homeNewA couple months ago, I received an ARC of Rush. I was intrigued, because the publicist who sent it to me handpicked it for me (she knows my taste). She said it was a combination of Mary Kay Andrews and The Help. Sounded perfect, but then I went on my road trip and summer took over (see last week’s post). A couple weeks ago my book club picked the book, and I remembered that I had it at home. I finished it in three days (and it’s a bit of a long one). It’s fantastic!!!! Continue reading Books of My Life – Lisa Patton

Mary Kay Andrews, My Kids, Gronk & Summer Plans

Hey There! Popping in with a quick post about this and that.

First, I have another book giveaway, which I personally always think is exciting! I had the privilege of reading an advance copy of Mary Kay Andrew’s latest novel, The High Tide Club. Y’all know I’m a huge MKA fan. Last year I got to interview her for a Books of My Life post and I was invited to her book launch party (she lives in Atlanta). Thanks to her publicist, I have a copy to giveaway. All you have to do is leave a comment below. Keep reading though, after my brief review, I have other stuff to share.

Synopsis:

36336690When ninety-nine-year-old heiress Josephine Bettendorf Warrick summons Brooke Trappnell to Talisa Island, her 20,000 acre remote barrier island home, Brooke is puzzled. Everybody in the South has heard about the eccentric millionaire mistress of Talisa, but Brooke has never met her. Josephine’s cryptic note says she wants to discuss an important legal matter with Brooke, who is an attorney, but Brooke knows that Mrs. Warrick has long been a client of a prestigious Atlanta law firm. Books of My Life: Amy Willoughby-Burle

ne-whiteHello strangers! How are YOU? Can you believe I have a post? It took a Books of My Life post to drag me out of hiding – ha!

I do owe you an explanation as to my writing sabbatical, and I promise one is coming. I also, believe it or not, have a Favorite Books of 2017 post on a flash drive somewhere that I really, really want to share. I just have to find the flash drive, because I really, really don’t want to re-write it.

Today I want to share with you a book I read a few weeks ago that I really enjoyed: The Lemonade Year by Amy Willough-Burle. Continue reading Books of My Life: Amy Willoughby-Burle
