I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden. ~Ruth Stout
Spring is coming, I can see it!
I just don’t quite have the spring in my step.
The clocks jumped ahead this weekend and for some reason, it was tough on most of us in the house. The two early birds in the family were quite grumpy as I shuttled them onto the bus this morning, in the dark. Another child stumbled down the stairs an hour and fifteen minutes after his alarm went off, practically in tears, insisting that he hated daylight savings time and I had to fix it. Ah, ok – I’ll get right on that. I went to wake the last child, only to find him still asleep, in bed with dad! I practically had to bang pots and pans to get the three of them moving. Laughing, I told them to man up, it was only an hour!
Well, after everyone was gone and I was making beds, I was overcome with a strong desire to crawl back into bed. Guess what? I did! I slept hard, and woke up guilty. I have no idea what came over me. The blanket of exhaustion never really lifted, and the rainy day didn’t help. Coincidently, I saw an article on the Huffington Post, declaring the Monday after the time change as National Napping Day. I like it! Made me feel better, since I got nothing done today.
Anyone else have a tough time getting motivated this morning?
I had the exact same kind of day yesterday with my kids and me being VERY ho hum and lazy!!! The only time I left the house was to pick the kids up at the bus stop! I am definitely blaming it on Daylight Savings! 🙂
That’s our story and we’re stickin too it!
BTW Shell, sun is out today and the sky is the prettiest blue – it does wonders. Praying sunshie comes your way soon, litterally & figuratively.
Not looking promising (on the literal side, hopefully on the figurative side) but there’s always Hawaii!!! 🙂 xo
I feel like that every Monday, but it actually worked in my favor that I was worn out from the weekend so I actually went to bed at decent time on Sunday night. Our church had our Parish weekend at Camp Mikell and Sonja was worn out from all the fresh air, running around and late nights with friends, so she slept from the time we got home at 3pm Sunday, waking up just long enough to take a bath and fall back asleep, hair still in a towel. She slept through the night not even getting up for dinner. So Monday was not too bad at our house. I do find it hard to remember to start dinner at a sensible hour however since it is still so light out.
I am definitely feeling spring fever too, the Forsythia outside my Living Room window is a huge ball of gold and makes me anxious for more flowers.
Kathy, I am ready for the flowers, too! The daffodils look great, but I am anxious for the tulips – they tried to come up in Decemebr, during the mini heat wave, so I’m not sure if they’ll make it!
