A Stranger Among Us

“Henry is pretty close to the perfect child. Sorry, I think I wrote that last year, but he is. I will lend him out to anyone, at any time, to prove it – but you have to give him back. His teachers love him and he’s doing awesome in school.”

The above is a direct quote from my 2008 Christmas letter, about my sweet son. Sadly, the teacher love is the only part of that quote that would make the cut for this year’s letter. Apparently he’s still sweet and kind to his teachers. Henry is not his real name, because he’s now a teenager – I’m quite certain he’d be upset if he knew I wrote about him. Summer Road Trip Update # 4: Days 24-31

After spending three long and busy days in Yellowstone National Park, the Smith family was ready to move on. We headed west, to Idaho. To be honest, our stop in Idaho Falls was primarily planned so we could check Idaho off our list of states visited. Twenty-four hours was all I needed to spark my desire to go back. Idaho is very pretty and the people are extremely nice. Everywhere we visited, we were treated with smiles and good manners. And in Idaho, R. finally got his bear fix when we visited “Bear World,” a drive though zoo. We explored downtown and visited the falls from which the city got its name. A Currently Post that Includes Birthday Musings

I’m currently having a tough time getting back into blogging. This is probably because of my extended break over the summer (and my wish to still be sitting on the beach watching Florida sunsets!) and my own questions about blogging in general. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching, in an effort to figure out where I want to go with The Latchkey Mom. I haven’t come to any conclusions. I’m not quitting, but I am trying to decide where I’m going. Does that make since? If it doesn’t – well then maybe you have a little glimpse into the turmoil I’m experiencing. I love writing, but I also have other wants and needs and I need to find a way for my blog to serve those wants and needs, rather than hinder them.
